Psalm 23:1-6 speaks of The Loving Shepard and His Glorious Names that will overshadow you and help You and bring you in to HIS JOY & DELIGHT over you.

A Psalm of David

1. The LORD [is] my shepherd;

(Jehovah-Roi, my Protector -Ps. 34:8)

I shall not want.

(Jehovah -Jireh, my Provider -Genesis 22:14 & Numbers 20:7-11)

2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

(Jehovah – Adonai, my Master – our Sovereign LORD – Gen. 15:2&8)

he leadeth me beside the still waters.

(Jehovah -Shalom – Judges 6:24, Is. 9:6 meaning ” The LORD is my Peace. )

3. He restoreth my soul:

(Jehovah – Rophi, my Healer -(Ex. 15:26)

he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

(Jehovah – Tsidkenu , my Righteousness -meaning “The LORD, our Righteousness. Mathew 5:48; Hebrews 10:14 meaning: The LORD IS THERE or The LORD is with me.

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shades of death,

(Jehovah – Shammah, my Divine Presence -Ps. 23:4 You are with me. Meaning: You are always with me.

I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me;

(Jehovah – Tsebaoth, my Warrior – meaning our LORD will fight for You & me. .

thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

(Jehovah -El Elyon, my Defender – means ” The LORD GOD MOST HIGH,” or ” The LORD GOD,
My DEFENDER Gen. 14:22)

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies:

(Jehovah – Nissi, my Encourager meaning “The LORD, my BANNER” Ex. 17:15 or “The LORD who rallies us to HIMSELF. Also see Ps. 23:5)

thou anointest my head with oil;

(Jehovah -Mekaddesh, my Righteousness or Sanctifier meaning “The LORD, my Sanctifier” or “The LORD makes me Righteous. ” Ex. 31:13. )

my cup runneth over.

(Jehovah – El Shaddai, my Nourisher meaning “The LORD my Nourisher” or ” our All-Sufficient, Extra Ordinary, Supernatural GOD. Gen. 17:1 – His Goodness & Mercy follows me.)

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

(Jehovah – El Elohim , my Protector meaning “The LORD GOD is My Strong Protector. Also means our Eternal Creator – Gen. 1:1)

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

(Jehovah – El Olam, my Eternity meaning “The LORD GOD of ETERNITY” – Ps. 48: 14 or “our Everlasting GOD” – Gen. 21:33. The Hebrew word “olam” can be translated either “eternity” or “secrets”. The LORD will take care of us forever as that is what Jehovah – El Olam stands for our ETERNITY with HIM.
